A Better Midlife

Midlife has expanded in our times to now be considered a much longer time.  Depending on the person, one can be considered to be in their midlife from their 40’s through their 70’s.  For all of us in that category, let’s make it a great experience.

Our culture seems to tell us that this period of our lives is just a slow, sad decline into old age.  But rather than being a “Season of Winter,” I prefer to think of it as a “Season of Harvest.”  All the knowledge and experiences of my life can now pay off in big ways!

Many people make their biggest contributions during this part of their life.  The wisdom garnered from our hard work can now be shared in significant ways.  I know for myself, I move through each day on a more even keel.  I’ve had a lot of life experiences and can now more quickly see a situation for what it is and know that “This too shall pass” and I’ve been here before…and survived.

My good friend Dr. Mary White and I are hosting a series of free, live conversations about midlife.  These zoom conversations begin on January 14 and continue every other Tuesday night for 6 weeks.  I hope you’ll join us.  Let’s make sure we’re framing the way we think of this time in the best possible light.

We are using Chip Conley’s book Learning to Love Midlife: 12 Reasons Why Life Gets Better With Age as our guide.  FIND MORE INFO about these conversations and the topics each time ON THIS PAGE.  As Chip says in the book, “Growing and Aging are the same thing”…and that is something I can get excited about!
