Even in the midst of a year like 2020, there is much to be thankful for.  I have been constantly on the lookout for “silver linings” and have found many.  This has kept me grounded and optimistic in the midst of so much stress and disappointment.

Imagine feeling better, having more stamina, moving more easily, having better focus, and feeling more confident as you move through the world!  These are things that are possible through martial arts training. I’m living proof that this is possible….and now it’s available online!

Context is everything. I encourage you not to try to “lose weight.”  Our consciousness balks at losing anything.  Instead, focus on what you want to GAIN!

The world can be overwhelming and we can feel powerless in the face of huge problems or obstacles.  But simply by volunteering, we can flip that equation and begin to feel empowered.

All bullies are actually cowards.  The world is full of people trying to feel strong and powerful by abusing others, but if you’ve ever been on the receiving end of bullying, you know the real truth.  Anyone who lashes out and treats others cruelly is desperately trying to feel powerful, but is actually a coward at heart.

Many of us try to eat in a healthy way to maintain our ideal weight, feel better, and look better.  I’d like to share with you the best advice I ever received about food and eating.  This has revolutionized the way I think about WHAT to eat WHEN.

I often find myself reminding directors and their staffs that this activity is supposed to be fun. I will often say them, “Hey, we’re putting on a show!” It’s supposed to be fun.

Demand more of those around you. Character matters in our friends, colleagues, and representatives.

Throughout history, some of us have lived through a crisis in good shape and moved the world forward.

Showing your true self is an act of bravery.  It is also incredibly liberating.
