A friend told me that he recently heard a series of rumors about how I work with bands in South Carolina.  Apparently I’m either a giant prima donna or so wildly successful that I can make extravagant demands of my clients!!  I must say these all gave me a huge laugh.

Tim White Shirt squareThe rumors say that I only write shows where I create music and drill, and if you don’t want me to do both of these, then you have to pay for both anyway!  Wow, that’s incredible.  I do enjoy creating the entire production for 5 or 6 shows each year, and this work is at a premium.  But it’s not a requirement and I do less and less of these full shows each year.  The amount of work is just too great, and the time and attention required is monumental.  But I do love creating these shows.

I work with more bands just creating music, though I often serve as a consultant and share lots of visual ideas with the design team.  This way I can implement lots of “full show ideas” without doing both music and drill myself.

I have also heard the rumor that I’ll only write for one band in the state in a certain category in the State Competition.  Of course, this can’t be true since I was very proud to have the top three placings in 4-A competition in South Carolina two years in a row!  And I was most proud that all the shows were wildly different from each other.

Anyway, if you hear a crazy rumor about my work, it’s probably exactly that…a crazy rumor.  But I’m always happy to answer any questions or talk with anyone so please share those questions with me and help to correct some of these erroneous whisperings.  My career and sanity will appreciate it!
