Don’t try to lose weight. Really!

Context is everything.  I encourage you not to try to “lose weight.”  Our consciousness balks at losing anything.  Instead, focus on what you want to GAIN!

I encourage you to think about creating the body you want to hang your clothes on.  How do you want your clothes to fit?  How do you imagine your body looking with clothes fitting just the way you like?

How do you want to be able to move in your body?   How can you imagine feeling in your body as you move through the world?  How elegantly do you want to travel down a road, walking with friends, hiking a trail?

What kind of stamina do you want in your body?  Wouldn’t it be great to be able to do all the things you enjoy without feeling limited in any way by your health?  Active vacations, high energy shopping trips, a day at a theme park, riding your bike, having great sex… Imagine how you want your body to serve you, then use THAT as the motivation to make smarter choices in food, exercise, and rest.
