Praise for Tim Hinton’s Work

Tim Hinton has been writing my wind book for marching band for the past 6 years. I can not imagine designing my show anymore without his insight, suggestions, and mastery of orchestration. After our first year together, I really felt that Tim “learned” us as an ensemble, and doesn’t just write a show – he writes specifically for our strengths and weakness to help us sound our best. I know that Tim is always nothing more than a phone call away, and will do anything in his power to help me to help my students achieve at the highest level possible. And most importantly, not only is Tim a wonderful writer, he is also a true friend.

Jon Michael Brock, Belton-Honea Path HS

Tim is a master at creating productions that are musically and visually captivating. His shows are both sophisticated and crowd-friendly, and he shows fantastic foresight throughout the writing process. He has my highest recommendation!

Derrick Nolen, Stephens County HS

Before my retirement in 2012 from Northwestern High School, Tim was a vital part of my marching program. He wrote my music, charted the drill and served as a creative designer and consultant. I acknowledge that much of our success on a state, regional and national level is credited to Tim Hinton. He is an extraordinary musician and brings a complete understanding of the needs of high school musicians. BRAVO Tim Hinton!

Larry Wells

Tim has great ideas and always delivers the product on time. He is available for discussion during the creative process and has been an integral component in the improvement of our entire band program over the past five years.

I’ve known and worked with Tim Hinton over the past two decades – first as a student teacher, then as a band director and finally now as a district arts administrator. His creativity, ability to watch a show and provide immediate feedback for improvement and his professional connections in the marching arts world is second to none! He has been an vital resource for the band directors in our district and I look forward to many more years of collaboration!

Bradley D. Wingate, Director of Visual & Performing Arts, Greenville County School District

I have been using Tim Hinton’s music arrangements and drill designs with my marching band for the past nine years and they have been my most successful and enjoyable marching seasons of all my 30 years of teaching. My staff, students and parents have found his shows to be challenging, unique and very enjoyable. Our audiences have found them to be entertaining and have given us a great deal of positive public relations with our community. If proof is in results we have won 11 Grand Championships in the 9 years we have contracted our complete show with Tim. I give him my highest recommendation.

Greg Gajownik, Heritage High School

Tim’s arrangements have made a significant difference in the perception of my marching bands ability to perform their music. They are well thought out, creative and playable! On more occasions than I can count, an adjudicator has commented on how much they like my bands arrangement during our performance. Thanks Tim!

Tim’s web sites are invaluable to any director & staff member of all ages. He provides opportunities for directors & staff to learn about specific topics and situations they face, creating a culture of providing an opportunity to learn and ask questions.

Matt Harloff, Avon HS

The advantage with Tim is simple: he’s an artist, a gifted arranger AND an educator who understands first hand what students, staff and the audience deserve. As a percussion arranger, I always love working with Tim’s arrangements, he can put the art of the music first while being refreshingly creative.

Tim Hinton is by far one of my favorite arrangers/composers. He is always extremely professional and creative with the products that he puts forth. I fully endorse working with him as he has always made my bands sound their absolute best.

Ian Faires, Fossil Ridge HS

Tim is a first class composer, arranger and professional of the highest order in the pageantry arts. Working with Tim through the musical creative and collaborative processes is always exciting and a joy. His attention to detail, thoughtfulness and musical expertise always shine and exceed all artistic expectations. For over 10 years Tim’s compositions and arrangements have been the driving force behind the success of the Alter High School Marching Knights.

Todd Tucker, Director of Bands, Archbishop Alter HS (OH)

Perhaps one of the most important decisions I have made for our program at GRC was to hire Tim Hinton to write our arrangements. I am always impressed with the quality of our arrangements and the professional manner in which Tim conducts business. I am always happy to recommend him to directors who are searching for a top notch arranger to help take their programs forward.

Tim Hinton has the unique ability to look at his work from all perspectives. He is an experienced band director, drill writer and music arranger. I believe these experiences combined with a highly developed talent affords his clients an artistic, educational and attainable product.
