A great show concept: Describe musical terms through music AND visuals! Starting with “Fanfare” and ending with “Finale,” this production of original music by Tim Hinton and Clif Walker uses musical and visual icons to walk the audience through a series of famous musical terms. “Staccato” has short notes and bouncy balls, whereas “Accent” uses hard-hitting Latin music and boxing gloves! The ballad uses stretchy fabric and elongated phrases to display “Rubato” and “Sostenuto” while the closer uses clashing visuals and a modern groove to demonstrate “Dissonance” and “Atonal.” Concluding with a long “accelerando” into the “Presto” finale, this original marching band show is clever, musical, and fun to watch!
