Troopers Educators Go To Costa Rica
In January 2020, the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps sent Educators down to Costa Rica, through a partnership with Banda Comunal La Fortuna, for a cultural exchange initiated by Alvin Martinez (Brass Faculty). While the Troopers were able to provide a clinic and an audition experience for the students and families of the region, these Instructors would soon learn that the benefits for this trip would leave an everlasting impression on them. In this session, these Educators share their first impressions, thoughts on the student and community engagement, the clinic and audition experience, and reflections after the journey home. The Troopers are proud to have Lauren Teel (Percussion Caption Manager), Samantha Madayag (Color Guard Caption Manager), Anthony Clark (Visual Caption Manager), Tim Leonelli (Brass Caption Manager) and Alvin Martinez (Brass Faulty) to share their stories of this international venture.
